We are pleased to share the news of a new publication in the field of community mental health: “From Psychiatry to Community: Epistemologies, Rights and Practices for a New Mental Health Paradigm”, published by Cambridge Scholars Publishing on November 3, 2026.
This collection was co-edited by Raffaella Pocobello, HOPEnDialogue Principal Investigator (PI), alongside Børge Baklien and Ragnfrid E. Kogstad. The book advocates for a psychosocial and human rights-based approach to mental health, bringing together 43 authors from around the world to present real-world experiences and evidence showing that a true paradigm shift is not only possible, but already being practiced.
Alongside a dedicated chapter on Open Dialogue, the volume gathers a rich variety of international perspectives. Readers across our network will find many complementary frameworks that deeply resonate with HOPEnDialogue’s shared vision of personal autonomy, relational care, and human rights-driven mental health.
The book is available directly on the Cambridge Scholars website at this link and will soon be accessible through major global book distributors.
